The Heavy Civil Construction Industry is the construction and maintenance of public works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines, structural components of buildings, and railways. This essential industry is responsible
for the development of our city. There is a shortage of hard-working individuals who are passionate about making a difference in their community. In Civil Constructing there are multiple well-paying positions available in this industry that offer
the opportunity to advance quickly and do not require a college degree.
HCA is working with local high schools and work programs in Houston to educate students, veterans, and educators regarding the many opportunities available in the Heavy
Civil Construction Industry.
If you are interested in a career in Heavy
Civil Construction, you will need:
Reliable transportation
Ability to work in all types of weather conditions
No violent or sex offender criminal history
Willingness to work 50-60 hours per week
On the job training is available. You can learn to operate large and small equipment, and obtain other skills involved in completing projects in this field.
